NZMAA (New Zealand Model Aeronautical Association) is the controlling body for model flying in New Zealand. As well they liaise with Government bodies on affairs that affect aeromodellers sport, such as the Civil Aviation Authority ( aviation regulations ) and radio frequency control authorities. One of the most important roles is providing aeromodellers with a third party insurance cover providing certain conditions are met. Visit the 'NZMAA documents section' to see the full list of documents available to download which cover all aspects of aeromodelling.

( NZMAA rules are under review at this time and some changes to the 'wings program' and 'large model category' are expected to be published later this year )

MANZ (Miniature Aircraft of New Zealand) promotes non-competitive flying of large model aircraft. Members of MANZ belong to their local clubs and so are covered by the NZMAA insurance policy. Wingspan minimums are set at 2 meters for mono-planes and 1.5 meters for bi-planes or tri-planes. Membership of MANZ is open to all persons interested in the non-competitive flying of large aircraft models.

NZJMA (New Zealand Jet Modellers Association) meet on a regular basis at Tokoroa to fly turbine powered models.
